Remembering the Source Within

We spend much of life searching for who we are—through accomplishments, relationships, and the stories we tell about ourselves. Yet beneath all these layers lies a deeper truth, one that cannot be defined by words but can be felt in moments of silence.
Know The Self
For most of us, identity is wrapped around names, roles, and personal histories. We say, “I am a teacher,” “I am a parent,” “I am successful,” “I am struggling.” These labels help us navigate daily life, but they are only surface definitions. They shift with time, circumstances, and perception, and none of them touch the essence of who we truly are. Beneath all the changing forms lies a deeper truth: we are not merely separate beings moving through the world—we are living expressions of the Source itself, the wellspring from which all existence flows. In essence, each of us is a facet of the Source.
To understand this, imagine a diamond with countless facets, each cut at a different angle, each reflecting light in its own unique way. No single facet contains the entire diamond, yet none of them exist apart from it. Each one reveals something of the whole, while at the same time depending on the whole to exist. In the same way, you are not apart from the Source—you are one of the ways the Source shines into this world. Your individuality is real and valuable, but it is never separate from the infinite wholeness that holds all things.
To recognize yourself as a facet is to live with a double awareness: to honor your uniqueness while remembering your inseparability from the Source. You arise from this infinite ground of being, and one day you will return to it, just as a wave rises from the ocean and eventually merges back into its depths. Yet the return is not a disappearance—it is a completion. You carry back with you the richness of all the experiences and perspectives gathered through your life’s journey, adding depth and dimension to the fullness of the Source. And the mystery does not end there: once this cycle is complete, another begins. Like the highest note in music leading naturally to the next octave, your return opens the doorway to a higher vibration of existence. In this way, Source continues to expand through you, discovering new ways to know and express itself, octave after octave, in an endless unfolding of creation.
Into Stillness
The Source cannot be captured in words or concepts, for anything the mind tries to name or define falls short of what is infinite. And yet, when we turn inward toward true stillness, something remarkable happens: the illusion of separation begins to dissolve. Thoughts slow down, the inner commentary loses its grip, and the surface turbulence of the mind settles like ripples fading on a lake. In that quiet, what is revealed is not a new concept to hold onto, but a direct recognition of what has always been here.
As stillness deepens, familiar reference points soften and even fade. The sense of “I” as an ego, a thinker, or a doer becomes less solid. At times, even the perception of the body and the physical world can dissolve into spaciousness. What remains is pure awareness itself—timeless, weightless, unbound. In that openness, there arises a natural sense of unity: the realization that awareness and existence are not separate things, but two ways of pointing to the same truth. This unity is not imagined; it is directly felt in the silence beneath all thought.
And yet, stillness is not an “experience” in the way we usually think of experiences. There is no one left to claim it or own it. In stillness, the experiencer itself falls away, and what remains is simply Source recognizing itself—wordless, whole, and complete. Nothing new is acquired, and nothing needs to be added. Instead, there is a remembering, a homecoming, a realization that you are and have always been the Source itself.
Live As An Open Vessel
So how do we live from this truth? Not by clinging to experiences, nor by resisting what life brings, but by becoming an open vessel. To be an open vessel is to let life flow through without grasping and without pushing away. Joy flows through you, pain flows through you, success flows through you, loss flows through you. Nothing needs to be held, owned, or identified with. In this openness, the Source shines without obstruction, and your life becomes a living expression of its fullness.
But you may wonder: what if what flows through me feels dark, heavy, or painful — things I don’t like? The open vessel does not deny or suppress these experiences; instead, it allows them to pass without attaching to them as ‘mine.’ Even difficult emotions and painful situations are movements of energy, impermanent and ever-changing. When you resist them, they harden and linger; when you let them flow through, they dissolve naturally.
Being an open vessel does not mean you will only feel light or positive energy. It means you do not get stuck in whatever passes through. Anger may arise, grief may arise, fear may arise — but like clouds across the sky, they move on. What remains constant is the vastness of awareness itself, untouched and unbroken. The more you rest in this openness, the less power these passing states have over you, and the more easily the deeper qualities of Source — peace, clarity, and love — shine forth.”
Living as an open vessel doesn’t guarantee only pleasant experiences. It allows you to remain free, even when challenges arise, because nothing has the power to stick unless you cling to it.
This is not an abstract philosophy—it is a way of being. The next time you feel weighed down by stress, pause and return to stillness. Breathe deeply and remind yourself: I am an open vessel. I do not need to grasp or resist. In that space, you reconnect with the Source, and from that place of connection, wisdom and peace naturally arise.
Closing Reflection
To ask “Who am I?” is not to chase after another identity but to peel back every false layer. In form, you are a facet of the Source, reflecting it uniquely. In essence, you are the Source itself, timeless and whole. And the best way to honor this truth is to live as an open vessel, allowing life to flow through freely, so the infinite can shine through the finite—effortlessly, radiantly, and fully.
May you remember the Source within, and let it shine through all that you are.
